All Board Members actively engage their combined experience in Financing, Engineering, Development, Exploration, and Corporate Development to ensure that the Company is squarely focused to responsibly serve the interest of shareholders and all stakeholders.
Sean brings his boundless energy and passion for the industry to our Board. He has a depth of experience in the mining industry having spent 10 years in investment and merchant banking primarily focused on the mining sector. More recently he has held senior executive and Board positions with a number of mining companies, including TVX Gold Inc., Atlantico Gold Inc. and Orvana Minerals Corp. Sean also serves as a director of Perseus Mining Ltd., Serabi gold Plc. And Sarama Resources Ltd. Sean has an M.B.A in Finance and an LL.B specializing in tax and corporate law.
John has more than 35 years of mining experience, mostly spent in Canada’s northern territories. Previously, he was President and CEO of Western Keltic Mines until it was acquired by Sherwood Copper. During his career he was Vice President, Northwest Territories Projects for De Beers Canada where he was primarily responsible for the permitting and development of the Snap Lake Diamond Mine. His experience also includes 12 years with Breakwater Resources Ltd / Nanisivik Mines Ltd in operations at the Nanisivik Zinc and Lead Mine on the northern tip of Baffin Island, and he spent six years with Strathcona Mineral Services Ltd. where his work included engineering, feasibility studies and project development. John is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, with a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering. He is also a Director of public companies; Hudson Resources Inc., Abacus Mining & Exploration Corp. A strong advocate for the mining industry, he is also a director of industry organizations; Klondike Placer Miners’ Association (KPMA), Yukon Chamber of Mines (YCM) and the Mining Association of Canada (MAC).
Len is currently a Director of Romarco Minerals Inc., Brazauro Resources Corporation and was a Director of Strata Gold Corporation. Len has 40 years of diversified experience in the mining industry, including 16 years gold exploration for Newmont and Brazauro, 15 years diamond exploration for De Beers, ASAM and Anaconda and 3 years of Base Metal and Uranium exploration for Anglo American. Len held the position of VP Exploration for Newmont from 1994-2001 until he retired in 2001.
Mike brings over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration in North America and overseas to the Victoria board. He has over 25 years of experience in managing public resource companies and has a demonstrated track record in acquiring and developing high quality mineral projects. He serves on the Board of True Gold Mining Inc., Abacus Mining & Exploration Corp., Red Star Gold Corp., Canasil Resources Inc. and Burnstone Ventures Inc.
Christopher is currently Treasurer at Aecon, Canada’s largest public construction and infrastructure development company. Previously, Chris held senior management positions at Kinross Gold Corporation from 1998 through 2010. Prior to this, Chris spent time in the treasury department of Barrick Gold Corporation and was a trader for Lac Minerals and the Bank of Nova Scotia. Chris holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University.
Heather has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry where she has served in senior operating and executive roles with such major companies as Vale Canada, Voisey’s Bay Nickel Company, Inco Ltd and NOVAGOLD Resources. Ms. White holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering degree from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and is an active member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Mining.
Patrick brings over 30 years of international experience in the resource industry. He has held senior positions at Elgin Mining Inc., Aura Minerals Inc., Viceroy Exploration Ltd. before its acquisition by Yamana Gold Inc., Consolidated Trillion Resources Ltd. and Oliver Gold Corporation, where he negotiated their successful merger to form Canico Resource Corp.. Patrick has also held numerous senior engineering positions at many large-scale gold mining operations. Mr. Downey is a member of the board of Claude Resources, Dalradian Resources and Orezone Resources and he holds a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) degree in Engineering from Queen’s University.
